FairConsult 24|7 is partnering with Crowdswap to digitize large areas of the energy market and to develop solutions for the decentralized financial markets (DeFi).

As a software consulting company for the energy market, we would like to take this opportunity to announce our partnership with Crowdswap.

Crowdswap is a platform that provides best-price routing for various opportunities in the decentralized financial space (DeFi). For example, it analyzes the entire DeFi space to find the most cost-effective route for a defi-asset exchange. Crowdswap also offers a cross-chain liquidity protocol (CCLP) that helps to use assets across all networks for an exchange of assets. The platform guarantees fast execution, secure transactions, and lower than usual cost overhead.

We aim to digitize and transform the energy market by connecting to appropriate blockchain technologies. In particular, this will involve new payment and validation functionalities using smart contracts.

We are already working on the implementation of various projects using Crowdswap’s smart contract infrastructure, which is already running productively and can be used to perform conversions of crypto values in a cost-efficient and versatile manner. In addition, we will also look at other adaptation fields in the energy industry and blockchain technology, where collaboration will serve as an accelerator for the digitalization of the energy industry.

We are certain that the digitalization and transformation of the energy market are an important step for the future of the industry. By using blockchain technology, processes can be made more decentralized and transparent.

We would like to offer you our know-how and expertise in the field of energy management and blockchain technology. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to be there for you and together we will find a good solution to your challenges.

We are proud to be part of this process and look forward to a successful collaboration.

Our power grid operates with 50Hz, which means that the direction is changed 50 times per second. The frequency is affected if generation and consumption fluctuate. When there is too less power, the frequency drops; when there is too much power, the frequency rises. Thus, to keep the frequency stable, generation and consumption need to be in balance.

In case of an imbalance of demand (consumption) and supply (generation), the transmission system operators have to ensure stability. Such transmission system operators are responsible for supraregional supply in the extra-high voltage range.

In the past, the central control of a large power plant was used to achieve this – that was Redispatch 1.0. More and more plants are now feeding renewable energy into the grid on a decentralized basis as a result of increasing environmental awareness. In contrast to the power plant, there is no timetable for these plants. The generated energy depends much more on environmental influences such as solar radiation and wind speed. Now it is also no longer sufficient to shut down the power plant. Instead, the plants that generate renewable energy are now also downregulated – this is referred to as Redispatch 2.0. In comparison to Redispatch 1.0, there are now many more players involved. Previously, there was the transmission system operator, the dispatcher, and the plant operator. Now, various distribution system operators and different plant operators are also involved. The distribution system operators purchase the electricity from the transmission system operator and pass it on to the end consumer at the necessary voltage. Also, plant operators are now no longer defined as power plants, but solar and wind power plant operators. These plant operators are rewarded for feeding electricity into the grid. If the plant is shut down to ensure grid stability, they lose the feed-in tariff. To compensate for this, they are paid a fee for not feeding into the grid, which we refer to as outage work, which is compensated. ¹ Their payment comes at the end of the Redispatch 2.0 processes. For ensuring grid stability, it is necessary to regulate the plants, for which the operator must be compensated. So that this can work, some exchange processes must take place. These are described and defined by the Federal Network Agency. ² The task of ensuring grid stability has increased significantly. Thus, it is not surprising that these are complex processes. Their complexity will not decrease in the future: While the processes of Redispatch 2.0 are being implemented and tested, one already meets the term Redispatch 3.0, where even small potentials are exploited. ³ ⁴

Over the past years, a global, open alternative to the current financial system has emerged: Decentralized Finance. Products and functions in this environment are based on Web 3.0, which reflects a new generation of the Internet. Financial transactional processes are implemented in a decentralized manner using blockchain technology. Depending on the validation mechanism, these can be tracked openly and transparently on the respective blockchain. A number of products in the DeFi sector represent the common financial functions for free for everyone. This allows money to be borrowed, lent, saved, invested, and traded.¹

Dominated by the general cryptocurrency market, the DeFi market specifically has gained significant market capitalization since the end of 2020. Currently (end of 2022), the market moves between $40 billion and $60 billion in capitalization.

The economic and technical adaptation of the DeFi world is increasing constantly despite recent setbacks in the global markets. Meanwhile, governments as well as institutions are increasingly adopting DeFi because of its potential for democratization, transparency, and functionality.²

In cooperation with EnerjiSA, one of the largest energy suppliers in Turkey, FairConsult is developing the adaptation of decentralized finance in the energy market. This collaboration leads to a payment function that can be used to pay invoices for various energy consumptions in the most important DeFi assets in terms of volume and capitalization.
